We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

4. Quotations & Orders

Quotations provided during or after your design visit are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Prices include VAT and professional installation unless explicitly stated otherwise.

An order is confirmed when you accept the quotation in writing (including email) and pay the required deposit. Once confirmed, your order enters our manufacturing schedule.

We reserve the right to adjust prices if there are significant changes to material costs or if additional work is required beyond the original scope. Any changes will be discussed and agreed with you before proceeding.

5. Deposits & Payment

Our standard payment terms are as follows:

We accept payment by bank transfer, debit card and credit card. Finance options may be available — please ask during your design consultation.

6. Manufacturing & Installation

Once your order is confirmed and the deposit received, manufacturing typically takes 2-3 weeks. We will contact you to arrange a convenient installation date.

Installation is carried out by our directly employed, experienced fitters. We ask that the room is cleared and accessible on the agreed installation date. Installation typically takes 1-2 days depending on the scope of work.

We will take all reasonable care to protect your property during installation. Our fitters will clean up after completion and remove all packaging and waste materials.

7. Our 10-Year Guarantee

All fitted furniture manufactured and installed by Smiths comes with a comprehensive 10-year guarantee covering both materials and workmanship. This guarantee is effective from the date of completed installation.

The guarantee covers:

  • Structural integrity of all carcasses and panels
  • Door and drawer mechanisms (hinges, runners, soft-close systems)
  • Handles and fittings
  • Professional installation workmanship

The guarantee does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by misuse, accident or negligence
  • Modifications made by third parties after installation
  • Damage caused by water, fire or other environmental factors

8. Cancellation & Cooling-Off Period

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of order confirmation during which you may cancel your order for a full refund of any deposit paid.

If you cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period but before manufacturing has commenced, we may retain a reasonable amount to cover design and administrative costs incurred.

Once manufacturing of your bespoke furniture has begun, cancellation is not possible as the products are made to your individual specifications. Please refer to our Refund Policy for full details.
